The Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand | Gospel of the Kingdom

Scripture:

Matthew 10:5-8, Matthew 12:43, Mark 9:25, Acts 1:8, Matthew 28:19-20, John 14:12, Acts 4:29-30, Acts 8, Deuteronomy 13:1-3, Matthew 7:22-23

What to Believe:

Jesus’ Deliverance ministry: different from O.T. (David to Saul, etc.)- Demons go out and come back But Jesus had authority over demons. They were afraid of Jesus. The disciples were amazed that they had authority as well.

Jesus gave the disciples the first commission:

THE FIRST COMMISSION

- Go only to Israel,

- Proclaim the kingdom,

- Take no money,

- Do not prepare.

Also see Acts1:8 and Matthew 28:19-20

Later, Jesus gave the Great Commission.

THE GREAT COMMISSION

- Go to all the world

- Teach ALL I have commanded you

- Baptizing

- Take your tunic(money/provision)

The First Commission Vs. The Great Commission

Go only to Israel Vs. Go to all the world

Proclaim the Kingdom Vs. Teach ALL that I have commanded

We believe the disciples understood the Great Commission to include healing, raising the dead, cleansing the lepers and casting out demons, because of their subsequent actions. John 14:12 the things I do, you also will do. He intended us to do the same. Acts 4:29-30, Acts 6:8, Acts 8 Phillip had power.

Initially, the disciples were not yet ready to teach. By the time the Great Commission was given, they were ready.

Question:
What do we do about the signs and wonders of people who are teaching wrong doctrine, who are sinful or abusive or who are corrupted by money or power? Are the signs and wonders false if the teacher is?

Answer:
No. God can use anyone to heal or deliver his children. Signs and wonders are not a stamp of approval. Deuteronomy 13:1-3–Don’t listen to the words of anyone who teaches false doctrine, even if there are signs and wonders. Watch out if they worship self, money, miracles, signs and wonders. The key is looking for the fruit of character in their lives.

Matthew 7:22-23 “I never knew you, workers of lawlessness…”

How to Obey:

We should still pray for healing, deliverance, power of God, while fulfilling the Great  Commission.

How to Walk Intimately with God:

Be Great Commission people.

Do not try to build ‘your brand’ or your bank account, or follow someone who is. LOOK FOR fruit in their lifestyle, character, etc.
