Kairos Q3 Update

MINISTRY: Kairos Prison Ministry | International Ministry…we support the Michael Unit

MINISTRY PURPOSE: to bring the love of Jesus into prisons across the globe.

KNOW:
Kairos prison ministry is on a mission to develop a Christian community inside prisons. We are focused on the Michael Unit in East Texas were there are 2,500 men in prison.

A special Kairos 3 ½ day event is offered two or three times a year where only 42 men can participate. Some of these men have waited to be chosen to be a part of the Kairos event for 10 to 20 years!

The next Kairos weekend will be Oct 30 – Nov 2 which is often a difficult weekend in the prison because it is Halloween. There is an enormous amount of demonic activity during Halloween in the prison. But as you know, greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world.

PRAY:
* Pray for the Kairos ministry team to be full of love and power.
* Pray that our Lord would protect the ministry team and the 42 prisoners from the spiritual attack.
* Pray against demonic activity because it will also be Halloween, and this usually brings an enormous amount of demonic activity in the prison.
* Ask God for the salvation of the men that will attend the weekend.
* Please pray that God would prevent activity that leads to a prison lockdown. A prison lockdown could stop the Kairos event from happening.

GIVE:
Ray and Diana DeBord, members of Wellspring, will be creating a paper prayer chain in October and asking people to sign an individual link in the chain. This chain will be a surprise to the 42 men who attend the event. People can also donate $5 in which is the cost of one meal for a prisoner to eat during the October event. If you would like to give, please find Ray and Diana DeBord.

GO:
Volunteer for a Weekend - If you would like to join our team to volunteer for the weekend, send an email to David@wellspringdfw.org. As you might imagine, there is a significant prep & training process prior to being able to go into the prisons.

Write a Letter - as a part of the weekend, each inmate that attends receives letters from folks who are praying for them. For many of the inmates, these letters are treated like gold. They get a small piece of the love of God’s church has for prisoners who feel forgotten and stained in this world. The impact is powerful.
If you would like to write letters to the prisoners, please send an email to david@wellspringdfw.org.
