June My Father’s Work Update
SPECIAL TESTIMONY
We were able to send a check this month to My Father’s Work [MFW] / Widows & Orphans Network filled with funds gathered through Wellspring Member donations - YOU . These are funds that have been donated throughout the year [in the future, we will deliver these 1x per quarter].
WAY TO GO CHURCH!
TESTIMONY
In the past year while volunteering for Ranch Day events, I’ve [Marty Griffith, Mission Coordinator to My Fathers Work] seen so many examples of God working in and through this ministry.
My son and his fiancé were a little hesitant to volunteer at first, and have been generally slow to embrace faith.
Over the past year, my son’s girlfriend became his fiancé and she started spending more time seeking a relationship with God and trusting in Jesus. As her faith has grown her desire to serve and be part of Ranch Day has also. They are a young couple, struggling to get by, but faith can move mountains.
Several months ago as all the ladies were feeling the stress of finding that perfect wedding dress, Kristen [now daughter in law] had resigned herself to getting something less than she had hoped for. A tight economy and high cost of living didn’t leave any other options. But then, God showed up to show favor on this young lady who had decided to follow Him and give sacrificially of her time and resources.
Someone who had recently passed away left everything to the ministry, including a wedding dress. The wedding dress was the exact style, the exact dressmaker, and the exact size of my son’s fiancé. Kristen even waited until Ranch Day had ended and nobody else had taken the dress. This weekend we saw her beaming smile and happiness as she became my son’s wife in the dress that God provided when nobody else could. He showed her favor for serving Him and His people.
Here is what you need to KNOW | PRAY | GIVE | GO for this month:
KNOW
June attendance was 412 despite rain chances and high humidity.
MFW hosted an additional event just for foster families and the organizations that support them on May 31st. Attendance for that event was over 200 and the event was hugely successful as we ministered to their unique needs.
Most people don’t know that we start with a clean slate for donations every single month. We don’t carry over from one month to the next everything we have left over at the end of each Ranch Day is donated to Community Storehouse of Keller.
PRAY
There have been some discussions about skipping August to give a much needed break in the hottest month to volunteers. We stand ready to do God’s work so please pray that we make the best decision for God’s plan in this.
GIVE
As always, donations of household items that are appropriate for apartment living are always in high demand, as are clothing items particularly for babies and toddlers.
If you want to donate items to MFW, please shoot us an email - missions@wellspringdfw.org
If you want to give financially to MFW, go to our GIVE page and select “My Fathers Work / Widows & Orphans Network”.
GO
We desperately need more volunteers for the Thursdays and Fridays before Ranch Day. Young strong volunteers that can help pre-position furniture and heavy items really would be a blessing.
