What We Believe
The main point of this passage is the continuation of Jesus' rebuke of the Pharisees who claimed Jesus acted in the power of Beelzebul. The rebuke began with “The men of Nineveh will rise up”, then the Queen of Sheba will condemn, and finally an evil spirit will return with 7 evil spirits for this generation.
The return of the unclean spirit is a warning to the generation that is rejecting Jesus.
Confession and repentance are not just for beginners. They are normal parts of the life of the disciple.
God is extremely merciful. If you are wondering if God will forgive your sins, he will!
Just as that generation was benefiting from Jesus’ ministry, our civilization was shaped by Christian principles and revival. Our society, in many ways, has gobbled up the benefits, but rejected Jesus. We are in the position of having an empty house that is swept and ready.
Jesus corroborates a spiritual worldview. Therefore, a Biblical worldview is a spiritual worldview. Jesus treats demons as actual entities-spirits in rebellion against God and intent on damaging the Kingdom of God.
Living the basic life of a disciple is the best defense against Satan.
How to Obey
Attend church! It is good for us individually and good for our society to fight the spiritual battle to cast out and keep out demonic influences.
How to Walk Intimately with God
Ask yourself: How is my intimacy with God? Am I harboring “grey areas” of sin?
