What to Believe:
1. Humans were created to do good work.
2. Being irresponsible leads to poverty.
3. Knowing Christ should make us better workers.
How to Obey:
Remember that the Great Commission doesn’t cancel the need to work.
We are instructed to seek first the Kingdom of God, but not to seek it only. We are also to ask for our daily bread. But only twice in the New Testament was that bread obtained in a miraculous way.
In the first church, believers worked and gave generously to help others, they honored the obligation to take care of their relatives and they aspired to follow 1 Thess. 4:11-12 by living a quiet life, minding their own affairs and working with their hands.
How to Walk Intimately with God:
PRAY: “Lord, show me how to work with all my heart as unto you.”
