Widows & Orphans Network Q3 Update

MINISTRY: Widows & Orphans Network / My Father’s Work | Keller, TX

MINISTRY PURPOSE: Care for & meet the needs of widows, orphans, and single parent families in DFW.

TESTIMONY:
One of the regular volunteers at Ranch Day is also a single mother of three. Very recently the volunteer lost her oldest child to an aggressive cancer.

Although not a typical function of Widows and Orphans Network/My Father’s Work, the board voted to donate funding to assist with funeral expenses. The board vote was unanimous.

KNOW:
This month (October 4th) will include sign ups for the annual Angel Tree event.

Each year, in partnership with local doctors, Widows and Orphans Network collects names of needy families/children and their Christmas wish list. The names and wish lists are placed on Christmas tree ornaments which are taken by individual donors at the doctors’ offices. Donors are given a deadline to drop off at the ranch, and several days before Christmas the parents come to pickup the gifts for their kids.

This is always a very special time to give and both the donors and the recipients are greatly blessed in the process.

PRAY:
Please pray for the staff and volunteers as well as all of the families that attend Ranch Day. Pray for God to give us the strength, the stamina and the heart to continue to serve and to do it joyfully as we go into the holiday season of the year.

GIVE:
November in December are always amazing months full of generous gifts but also full of tremendous need.

In November we give complete Thanksgiving meals to needy families last year was over 150 and in December we of course have the angel tree which we discussed earlier, both of these events, depend heavily on individual volunteers and individual donors.

Being able to give up your time or financially to support these efforts would be greatly appreciated with bless so many needy families.

If you would like to give to the Widows & Orphans Network, go to the GIVE page on our website and select Widows & Orphans Network.

GO:
Every month, Ranch Day needs volunteers on the first Saturday of the month.

In addition on the Thursday and Friday prior to Ranch Day, we need strong, capable individuals that can help move furniture prepare tables set up tents and tables and other things to prepare for Ranch Day although many of our volunteers come from other churches.

We always have a great showing from Wellspring During the Ranch Day events!
Thank you Wellspring!
