May N2N Update
This month, we are adding testimonies to our updates!
It is incredible to see how the Lord is working in our Ministry Partners!
TESTIMONY
Testimony 1: Pastors’ Training in Kenya (Upcoming Event) Our largest-ever pastoral training event is scheduled for this September in Nairobi, Kenya. Over 500 pastors—and possibly up to 700—from more than 10 countries and 100 denominations across East and West Africa are expected to attend. These pastors are deeply hungry for biblical, ministry, and community development training. Preparations are going well: 200 have already signed up after only three weeks of promotion (normally that would take four months). We are shipping 200 projectors, speakers, and training flash drives in advance to equip those who complete the training to go and start schools in their own churches and regions.
Testimony 2: Schools Operating in Active Civil War Zones Despite ongoing conflict, our training schools continue to thrive in war-torn areas like Eastern Congo. We have active schools in Bukavu, Goma, and Beni—three cities currently experiencing rebel attacks and military unrest. Local facilitators report that even when rebels take over cities, pastors and students still gather to study and be equipped. In South Sudan, pastors completed exams while bullets flew nearby. Our flash-drive-based model allows ministry to continue in dangerous regions—requiring no foreign missionaries or permanent buildings, just committed local leaders and basic equipment. Our program was built for precisely this kind of resilience.
Here is what you need to KNOW | PRAY | GIVE | GO for this month:
KNOW
We are currently preparing for a major pastoral training event in Nairobi, Kenya this September.
We’ve begun purchasing and shipping 200 projectors, speakers, and flash drives that will be given to pastors who complete the training and launch schools. The event is gaining traction faster than expected, showing an overwhelming need and hunger for this kind of training. This is part of our broader work: we currently operate ministry and development training schools in 52 countries and are translating the curriculum into 7 languages, including difficult and costly ones like Hindi and Mandarin.
PRAY
Pray for the successful fundraising of the $30,000 still needed for projectors and materials, $30,000 for food and lodging for pastors, and $20,000 for staff travel expenses.
Pray for Beth’s medical situation: she is seeing a specialist in tropical medicine next week. There is hope that her long-standing digestive issues are due to parasites from their time in Africa, and that treatment can finally bring healing.
Pray for continued grace and protection over our schools, especially those operating in areas affected by war and instability.
GIVE
Donate toward the September N2N + CMM Pastors Training “Kenya 500” Trip – Every dollar helps cover projectors, food, lodging, and travel for the massive pastor training event.
If you want to give financially to N2N, go to our GIVE page and select “N2N”.
GO
Encourage potential U.S.-based students to enroll in our ministry training program. This is a direct way to volunteer your learning for global impact. We don’t have short-term volunteer travel this month, but we welcome those interested in future trips or projects to reach out.
Attend the special Sunday morning service and lunch tentatively scheduled for June 29, where we’ll share more about the Kenya trip and ministry updates. This will replace the originally proposed banquet and serve as a third-quarter giving focus for Wellspring.
