Vision and Goal

Our vision for children’s ministry is one that values relevant teaching and practical application for the children.  We believe children posses extraordinary gifts that are accessible now. Our goal is to provide an environment that supports the training and releasing of these gifts. Our classes are structured to facilitate this vision.

Nursery (6 – 30 months )

This class is foundational in a couple of ways:

  1. It introduces the Love of Jesus to our babies.
  2. It establishes the co-laboring roles of church and parent at the beginning of the child’s journey.

It is important that these foundations are established and that parent and teacher understand their roles of support. We believe this co-laboring posture is vital to the growth and well being of any child in our program. The children will hear for the first time, from a source other than the parent, of Jesus’ love for them. They will be prayed over, cared for and loved on. This all is to be done in conjunction with what the parents will be doing at home. Our goal is to establish the ministry as a source of encouragement and information for the parent at the beginning of an exciting time of exploration and discovery for the child. It is important to speak the foundations of our faith to these little ones to begin the sowing process.

Emerge Jr. (30 mos.  – K5)

It is the primary goal of the parents/teachers during these classes to begin introducing Biblical foundations and Christian concepts. During this season of the children’s lives we are looking for the unique character of each child to be revealed, and begin to see how this will translate into their calling and purpose, with the help of the Holy Spirit. Children in these age brackets can begin to operate in their callings. It is our challenge to help the child and assist the parent to this end with patient encouragement.

The children will begin to understand the language of heaven, as well as to trust what they hear. They should be encouraged in their communication with the Father and given opportunity to experience the Spirit. This is the introduction to a life style which will enable them to understand the spirit life they will lead that will become normal life.

We want their critical thinking founded in the word and not the world.  As we begin to validate the emergence of the Spirit with the parents it will become the norm for the children.

Emerge ( 1st – 5th grade )

The primary goal for the parents/teachers during this class is for the children to begin experiencing foundations and concepts with more understanding. By this time they will have heard these foundations and Christian concepts taught for several years and they will continue to hear them. The next level will be the practical application of these foundations and concepts to their lives. They will begin to see these truths for the first time in writing, and will begin understanding what they mean in a personal way. What has been spoken since birth will take on more importance as they build their friendship with Jesus, and experience the Holy Spirit releasing His power and love through them. It will all come alive!

During this time the children will begin to verbalize their own thoughts as to what the Lord is saying and doing. They will begin to develop their own opinion and convictions that will govern their lives. It is important to continue the validation process helping them understand and challenging them to dig deeper. During this season we hope to clarify what gifts they have and what their calling is. We should look for ways to engage them specifically to further substantiate who they are and what they are called to.

Emerge Ministry Team (4th – 7th grade by invitation)

The primary goal for parents/teachers during this season is for the children to begin being released in ministry, imparting and teaching the foundations and concepts they have heard now for many years to the body.

This team’s focus is to equip and release these leaders to do the work of the gospel and give them opportunities to practice this in a safe, encouraging environment with feedback on their progress.  Our goal here is to connect all of what they have heard over the years to life callings and pursuits. They will continue to study, for themselves, the foundations and concepts they have learned. We should position ourselves here to challenge and encourage them, and steer them to the truth. We will practice ministry in fun and creative ways, as well as set up accountability partners with each of the team members.

Childcare Dropoff Information

During the 10:00 hour

  • All children should check in at the nursery.  From there, 1st-5th graders will be sent to the AWANA room and infants through Kindergarten will stay in the nursery.

During the 11:00 hour

  • Infants through 30 months should check in at the nursery.
  • 30 months through Kindergarten should check in at Emerge Jr.
  • 1st through 5th grade should check in at Emerge.
